Where: Hogeschool Gent - Bedrijfsdepartement Aalst, Arbeidsstraat 14, 9300 Aalst

Besides Wow, other games/consoles will be present: Singstar, PS2, PS3, Wii and maybe an XBOX kinect.

MAC-address will be disabled so that everyone should be able to connect without a problem. In the mail I received other technical details were discussed, but it concludes in us being able to wow the night away.

Income: 7 EUR
Drinks at 1 EUR
Hamburgers (at your own risk lol)

In order to be able to connect to the switch, you must absolutely bring a very very long USB-cable!

Please let me know asap if you will be present!

Me and zypho will alsow be there, but i got one question, i only have a USB-cable of 1 meter. Is a Lan cable alsow good?

Apparently it's not an USB cable you will be needing, but a network/UTP cable (what do I know about that hé :-))
Make sure it's long enough! If not, you will be seated in the middle of the room, next to the switch and your mates might feel tempted to throw rotten vegetables, half eaten pitta's and warm beer at you.

If there are people who don't got a long cable, i've got a roll of 100 meter on stock i'll bring it to the lan party with some clips to make new cables

Do you have any info about WoW already about the connection?

I will contact the organisation tomorrow and come back on this, but I think there is nothing needed.

Dit is wat de organisator mij te zeggen had;

"Elaba, kga de MAC-adres beveiliging laten uitschakelen. Daardoor moet ge op voorhand niets doorgeven. Ook de poorten van wow en nog een aantal andere spelletjes gaan open. Is er van jullie specifiek nog iets dat open moet? Kheb daar nu niet zo veel verstand van maar zoals Teamspeak toestanden? hoewel jullie nu live bij elkaar zitten.."

Wel zorgen dat alle poorten open staan van wow want als ik me goed herinner van mijne lan party had wow tegen de 20 poorten die ze gebruiken, dus met alleen de tcp poorten open te zetten zullen we kunnen inloggen maar niet spelen, de upd poorten en downloaden ports moeten open.

Heb de poorten nog eens opgezocht:

World of Warcraft communicates on port 3724 with the TCP protocol. The patching process requires port 3724, 6112, and 6881-6999. Once again to download the patches for World of Warcraft you should forward the following ports.

3724 TCP 6112 TCP 6881-6999 TCP

If you can not forward ranges of ports and are only planning on having one computer playing WoW, just forward ports 3724 TCP and 6112 TCP. The 6881-6999 port range is mainly used where multiple computers on a network may be trying to play WoW at the same time.

Heb is misschien ook makkelijk om de ftp toe te laten van merken als nvideo of ati voor als er mensen updates nodig hebben xD
